In my opinion, I think we need to integrate natural environmental processes with our transport infrastructure network, and feed the economic global machine a healthier diet!
To do this, I think we should develop a transport network system in harmony with a green & blue infrastructure network.
For example, integrating a cycle highway with a sustainable drainage system. The cycle highway connections lead to a central railway. The sustainable drainage leads to river. This provides amenity and recreational spaces along a clearly defined cycle network. A transport network which allows a flow of transport and goods, not just for humans but for the environment as well!
