I can see we are at the tipping point where green infrastructure is a necessity and soon become the norm in built up areas.
I would like to see this taken one step further. Plants in our urban green spaces could be harvested by local communities for food and commodities. This would bring multiple benefits such access to natural green spaces and to access fresh food and plants. Society would see multiple benefits from having green infrastructure and therefore the demand for spaces would increase. The more benefits we can see from nature, the more we demand environmental enhancements.
